The Blair Project is delighted to be part of this pioneering and game changing Planet Possibility Consortium. Together, we aim to make Physics more appealing to Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and working class youth to increase uptake and grow the future workforce. Participants will conduct hands-on physical experiments to better understand the forces that underpin modern technological advances and govern the world we live in.

Our activities and programmes provide safe spaces for science and tech geeks of colour to engage with others like themselves, feel less isolated, and overcome peer pressure that physics isn’t cool. Our interactive sessions will bring physics to life through providing tinkering and hands-on experimentation to embed understanding of the forces that underpin modern technological advances and govern the world we live in. We’ll also grow the understanding and awareness of their parents, carers and the wider public about the relevance of physical sciences to everyday life and the critical role it plays in solving global challenges.

We’ll open up a window to a vast array of career opportunities through engaging TikTok physics videos, inspirational talks from role models of colour, a bi-monthly See Me Be Me podcast hosted by Nile and Blair Henry, and industry visits to leading employers to broaden horizons and deepen understanding of the range of existing and emerging careers.

ACTIVITIES + PROGRAMMES

THE STEM TRUCK

The STEM Truck brings focus to the wonders of physics and the vast array of career options it brings. Schools, Youth Groups and young people will learn about materials, power and aerodynamics, in three fascinating activities, finishing off with a quiz to test your new found knowledge. Explore the excitement of physics whilst discovering that anyone – no matter their background –  can take on a career in this industry.

CONNECT, CREATE + BELONG

Our online physics club explores hands-on tinkering and exciting experimentation to help young people gain a stronger understanding of physics. Connect, Create + Belong provides a safe, virtual space for science and tech geeks from diverse backgrounds to engage with others like themselves, feel less isolated, and overcome peer pressure that physics isn’t cool. See how we can challenge stereotypes with relatable guest speakers who have careers in physics.
